Pumpkin Seasonal Spirit
What's it taste like? Well, think of a malty whisky with a pumpkin and spice flavor -nutmeg and clove leap out and there's a hint of hops. We were pleasantly surprised by how much pumpkin flavor is retained in the spirit after distillation. How's it made? We start with Lakefront's Pumpkin Lager -based on a recipe from Thomas Jefferson! It's made with real Pumpkin and Lakefront Brewery makes the only pumpkin lager in existence. Carefully distilled in our pot still, we then aged it in used Bourbon Barrels. This aging mellows the spirit which is then bottled at 90 proof. Bottles are hand dipped in pumpkin orange wax and hand numbered. (you might notice the familiar look of the label- it's based on Lakefront's Pumpkin Lager label). We think it's the perfect spirit for the cool fall weather ahead. How do I drink it? Try it straight up on a cold fall night. maybe warm with a cinnamon stick. How about a Pumpkin Boilermaker? Distillery mixologist Jason Neu created several cocktails highlighting the Pumpkin Spirit here. A recent email we received from a new customer... "I picked up a bottle of your Pumpkin Seasonal Spirit yesterday from Downer Wine & spirits. Having never heard of bierschnapps, I didn't know what to expect. Last night, I tried a snifter of the spirit neat and was blown away. I'm a big fan of single malt scotch and in my opinion, your distillery's Pumpkin spirit can more than hold its own in complexity of flavor".
"I was so impressed by my bottle (No. 627), that I wanted to write you guys a short note of appreciation. If this craftsmanship is any indication of your other products, I will not hesitate to try your other bottling's".
Thanks again,
